Samsung launches four smartphones

Samsung Electronics on Wednesday launched three 'Wave' series smartphones based on its 'Bada' operating system and one based on Windows.

The Wave 525, Wave 533 and Wave 723 follow the launch of the first Wave phone launched by the company in June this year along with the Android based Galaxy S.

All the Samsung Wave series phones feature a 3.2" WQVGA TFT screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and are GPS-enabled. Samsung Wave 533 also has a QWERTY keypad and a 5 megapixel camera.

Powered by Bada OS, two of the new phones will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 2.0. The Wave series phones also offer full Internet browsing, and a media player that allows user to play their favourite tracks.

Additionally, the phones support "Social Hub" feature that will allow the integeration of all mails, SNS, SMS, emails in the phonebook itself. The phones also support FM Radio and come equipped with 100 MB of internal memory that can be expanded upto 16GB using Micro SD memory cards.

The Smasung Wave 525 is priced at Rs 8,800, Wave 533 at Rs 9,990 and Wave 723 at Rs 13,500.

Based on Windows 6.5, The Samsung Omnia 652 will offer support and access to Microsoft Email Excahnage through ActiveSync. The phone comes with the Microsoft Office 2010 pre installed. The QWERTY keypad and the customizable Home Screen enables easy access to favorite contacts, new wall paper options and online widget support.

The phone supports 3G (HSDPA) & a video telephony camera and social networking features.The Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and a GPS which provides location based services in Google Maps.

Additionally, the phone has built-in feature like 3.5pi Audio ear jack, 2.0 megapixel camera, Sound Alive, Internet Explorer 6, YouTube Apps and upto 16GB of expandable memory.

The phone has 1500mAH battery that promises upto 7.3 hours of talk time and 441 hours standby time. The Samsung Omnia 652 is priced at Rs. 10,600/-
