Facebook Rolls out 'Facebook Questions'

Facebook never ceases to delight us with pleasant surprises. Just a few days after launching Facebook Places in India, the social networking has now rolled out another goodie for it users: Facebook Questions.

The application, accessible from your homepage, lets you ask questions and get prompt replies from your friends and other people. When you ask a question it is shown in your news feed. If your friends answer or follow that question, it will be shared with their friends and so on.

According to the official Facebook Blog, this entire concept of 'Facebook Questions' originated when people began using the site in a novel and unprecedented way. The developers noticed that people often put down questions as their status message and then their friends responded.
“Friends are often the best source of advice when you're trying new things: Where should I go to dinner? How do I go buy a car? What new music should I check out? Friends know your tastes, and you have confidence in their opinions,” says Adrian Graham on the official FB blog.

People often ask questions like “Which is the best movie to catch this weekend?” or “What is the best place to chill out in West Delhi?” on Facebook. Now we don't need experts to get such questions. Our own friends can offer the best advice in such cases.
Facebook Questions helps you tap into the collective knowledge of the more than 500 million people on Facebook. For example, if you're vacationing in the Himalayas and want to know the best places for mountain-climbing, you can use Facebook Questions to get answers from nearby mountaineering enthusiasts.
The developers haven't given much importance to the privacy aspect in 'Questions'. In a disclaimer, Facebook clearly states that users should only ask questions they are comfortable sharing with everyone on Facebook. Besides, there is no option of posting questions anonymously.
