In its bid to regain its lost ground in the mobile handset arena, Motorola has recently rolled out a pocket-friendlysmartphone called Motorola Quench XT5 XT502 in India. It is yet another mid-range Androidsmartphone to hit the shelves of Indian retailers during the last few months.
The Quench has managed to make a mark despite using Android 2.1 (Éclair) instead of the newer version Android 2.2 (Froyo).

The phone comes with a 3.2 INCH Gorilla Glass display which also serves as a capacitive touchscreen. The display has a fairly decent resolution of 320 x 480 pixels with 256K colour output. It is equipped with a 600 MHz ARM11 processor which is supported by 256 MB of RAM.
The Quench supports Wi-Fi and GPS and offers 3G support (HSDPA 7.2 Mbps). As far as the camera is concerned it comes packed with a 5MP camera which the autofocus feature. The camera does a fairly good job but could have (and should have) been better. An LED flash enables you to shoot videos at 320 x 480 pixels. The device also fares well in the looks department. The phone has an elegant all black plastic, rubber and glass body which is complemented by well-crafted metal edges. There's a little scrolling wheel as well which is extremely handy.

A major drawback comes in the form of archaic version of Android being used on the phone. Notwithstanding this, it is indeed a good phone and can give a tough time to its counterparts like LG Optimus One P500 or Samsung Galaxy 3.
Price in India: Rs 13,299 is what Motorola expects you to shell out. We'll say it's indeed a good deal.

Would love to here from you...
