A notorious spammer who promoted himself as spam king, Sanford "Spamford" Wallace has been charged for launching phishing attack on facebook on 2008. He has a long history of this spamming but this is the first time he is facing criminal charges.

He is accused of spreading a phising attack starting in November 2008. He spammed users and directed them to a fake Facebook login page with the intent of stealing their login credentials.He used these hacked accounts for spreading more spams and attack on other users.
Wallace was also charged with two counts of criminal contempt for violating an order to not access Facebook. He was ordered not to access Facebook or MySpace again. If convicted, Wallace faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison for each count of fraud and 10 years for the intentional damage ones.
