Slow Performance Of Aakash Disappoints Users!

For those looking for easy mobility with Aakash, must know that absence of camera and GPRS in the device are major handicaps.
Aakash has become a rage simply because of its price. People intending to buy the device have pre-booked the device but those who could not pre-book because of limited stock are disappointed. According to an IBN Live report, they don't need to feel bad because their wait for an upgraded Aakash may be worth it.

Datawind had put up 30,000 units of the tablet for sale and they were sold out within a week of its availability. It is believed that the fact it is Android-powered device made it even more popular. An upgraded version of Aakash is, however, available. This version (Ubislate 7+) comes with enhanced features and increased price.
The Ubislate 7 version has been a little disappointing for its slow performance. The IBNLive report quoted Harsha, who works for a software company, which develops apps for Android devices, as saying, “The drawback for all users is the slow processor speed which is 366 MHz. The present day smartphones can do better.”

For those looking for easy mobility with Aakash, absence of camera and GPRS in the device are major handicaps. On the other hand, Ubislate 7+, the second generation Aakash, will come with a slot for SIM card, Wi-Fi connectivity for Internet access and a 700 MHz Cortex A8 processor, which takes care of the speed.
The report also quotes M Jagdish, a market analyst in Hyderabad, who has ordered the upgraded version which will be released in January next year, as saying, “Since the technology is still in its nascent stage, I have pre-booked the second generation Aakash tablet. Also, the common problem discussed on forums is the poor power backup of the previous version. The one slated for release promises a 3-hour standby.”
Aakash is priced at Rs 2500, while Ubislate 7+ comes with a little higher price tag, at Rs 3000. The availability of upgraded version of Aakash has increased the development of educational apps among others, customised for the Android devices as universities plan on supplying the tablets to students at discount prices. The students who have Aakash can access content from the Sakshat portal of the government of India for e-book, question bank and educational material downloads. Users can also access apps for the device from Getjar, SlideMe and other websites which supply free and paid apps.
