How to Save a Wet Laptop From Getting Damaged?

Water is the essence of life but it could be harmful in many ways too. Electronic products do not go very well with water or moisture and laptops fall in the same category. In order to save a wet laptop, you need to follow a few simple steps so that it does not get faulty.
What To Do In Case Of Water Damage To A Laptop?
The first golden rule is to keep your laptop away from water. This is pretty easy if you follow some simple rules.
  1. Do not put a glass or jug of water near your laptop.
  2. Always keep your laptop indoors, as outside it could be subject to rain and heat.
  3. If you conditions are wet, store your laptop in a moisture-absorbing bag.
Still after following these precautions, whatever carefully you look after your laptop, it may still accidentally get wet. Nevertheless, if this happens, you should know how to save it from getting damaged. The first thing to do in case of a wet laptop is to disconnect it from any source of power or electricity and remove the battery. This is necessary to prevent electric shock plus also to ensure that none of the internal parts get damaged due to moisture.

After removing the electrical connection, the second thing is to dry the laptop with a soft cloth. Any extra moisture or water should get removed with that cloth at least from the external surface.
The most dangerous parts where the moisture or water can cause damage are the internal parts such as the power supply, motherboard or hard disk of the system. In case water gets to these parts, they should be opened and kept in the sun to dry. Of course this may not be a feasible option in all regions and all times of the day. For example, if there is no sun then this method cannot be applied. In that case you may want to buy a moisture-absorbing Bheestie Bag (of course, you need to do that in advance, before your laptop actually gets wet). It contains magic beads that are more efficient and fast than silica gel, so if you store your laptop in such a bag overnight, it will get completely dry and, hopefully, functional.
Finally it can be said that though you should make all efforts within your reach to save a wet laptop, still if you are unable to figure it out, do not hesitate to go to the repair shop. The repair guy will certainly charge you a lot of money to repair the wet laptop but he will give back your machine in an impeccable form. So the next time you want to save a wet laptop from damage, just try to avoid excessive panic and try to work out something with a cool mind.
