Konka, a consumer electronics and mobile company based in China, is all set to make its début in India with a range of Android smartphones in partnership with Mak Mobility. The first handset to come out of this partnership is called Expose’. Konka and Mak Mobility first announced their partnership back in December last year.
According to the company, its focus is on the high-end camera smartphone market. The phone will be aimed at both photography enthusiasts and discerning smartphone users.
Konka says that it is keen to be "an active player in the exploding smartphone market in India in a planned and sustained manner." The company says it is offering the "right combinations of features at just the right price." Besides Expose’ for avid photography fans, Konka has lined up a few more handsets.
The company will soon be launching handsets called "Tuxedo" for business executives. For music lovers with a special focus on audio, Konka will be launching "three" Tango smartphones, and for consumers who have a keen eye for fashion, it will be coming up with the "Viva".
Manish Gupta, Product Marketing Head, Konka Smartphones, said, “Consumers are unique, and each is seeking features and benefits that fit his or her lifestyle. Hence, for us at Konka, the segmentation of market is very important. We will go beyond just specifications and offer an enhanced product experience. Our initial Smartphone product range is designed around four clusters; executive, picture and camera, music and fashion/style.”
Konka claims that each phone will be unique to its niche with a combination of various factors like the size of the screen, faster processor, operating system and more. The company also says that beyond hardware, it will be the first in India to offer a "cloud experience."
"The brand is making a confident and clutter-breaking entry with their “Konka Mobile - part of your life” campaign–that is centered around the approach that Konka products are designed around consumer needs and certainly not as a cheaper alternative. With this launch, the products will focus on the ‘young at heart’ generation of tech and style-savvy individuals.” Manish Pengoriya, Director of Mak Mobility, said.
