Google has many free services. You can use Gmail’s storage space as free backup. But here I would be telling you about how to backup your whole computer folders on Google docs free space. Google docs provide 1GB of free space. You can store files including videos, zip archives and even EXEs. And if you want to have more storage just sign up for a new account or purchase extra space. The main barrier about uploading folders is that Google Docs web based tool gives option of uploading files only.
There is an application called Cyberduck that enables you transfer files and folders from the computer toGoogle Docs (and vice-versa) as if it were just another FTP server.
You need to create a new connection in Cyberduck and choose “Google Docs” from the list of service providers. Then provide your Google Account credentials and within seconds, it will get a list of your Google Docs files and folders.
You can also re-upload desktop folders that are already on Google Docs and in that case, Cyberduck will give you an option to either rename or overwrite existing files.
Enjoy the free backup space. And let me know if you face any issues.
Would love to here from you...
