Sometimes, we accidently delete the Show Desktop icon in the Quick Launch menu. Today i would like to share you how to recreate it manually by creating a file named “Show Desktop.scf”.
This is a useful trick so to restore your Show Desktop icon follow the steps below:
- Open Notepad, and type :
[Shell] Command=2 IconFile=explorer.exe,3 [Taskbar] Command=ToggleDesktop
- Save this text file as “Show Desktop.scf” .
Note:
Select the “Save as” while saving the file and select the type as All Files to prevent the file being saved as “Show Desktop.scf.txt”.
- Now drag this file to the Quick Launch toolbar and your Show Desktop icon is restored.
- Another way is to use the Regsvr32 command.
- Go to Start > Run and
- Type “regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32.dll” (without quotes).
Would love to here from you...
