What should I Do If I Click on Any Spam Links Unknowingly

These days, the nuisance of spam in facebook is becoming irksome.I was very much annoyed when I got 15 notifications which are totally because of spam.Many people are getting effected by the spam every day. The spam messages are so attractive that even after getting affected once, people are clicking those links again and again. Spams like get a free facebook t-shirt,who viewed your profile and official facebook app for profile views are spreading like wild fire. If these are not stopped now, it will be irritating even other Facebook users who are friending the spam spreaders.So with this strong reason I like to give you some tips to help you not becoming a spam spreader.

First and Foremost:

Think before you click any link on facebook.Use your common sense, how can some one give you a T-shirt for you with free of cost. Even if any one says that they are giving some thing for free then for sure they will in turn expect some thing from you which benefits them.Consider the case of giveaways on popular blogs they say that they you can win this thing and that thing but the prerequisite to enter the contest is you must share there post on facebook and twitter and many other sites.So what I want to say is that NO ONE will give you anything for free in this money world.So if you don’t want to find your name in the list of spam spreaders then don’t become prey for those tricky messages.

No One will Waste Their Time To View Your Profile:

This is one of the emerging  facebook spam field.People now a days are very eager to know who are viewing  their profiles. This eagerness of the innocent people was taken advantage by the spam creators and making facebook as a den of spam.

After doing some research in web I can surely say that as of now NO ONE can find who are viewing your facebook profile. NO ONE literally mean No script, NO code , NO plugin and even NO paid service can find that.I can defend myself like this, Consider the spam spread recently named “See Who viewed Your Profile”,if Suppose you clicked on the app and have given all the permissions to check your profile but where will it check, Facebook doesn’t provide any data about who viewed your profile previously. If it is a genuine app then it must say like “install this app and this will track your visitors“ but even this is not allowed by facebook.Here are some reasons why you can track your profile visitors

*Facebook filters (does not allow) HTML or JAVASCRIPT:  This means that you simply cannot paste any ‘tracker code’ onto your page like you can with Myspace.  Well..  you could, but Facebook would filter it out rendering it useless 

*Facebook Tracking apps don’t work!:  Well, actually, some of the Facebook tracking apps DO work as advertised – but what they dont mention up front is that the person you want to track also has to either install the same tracking app or “give permission” to allow the tracker app to access their Facebook info.  Some people may just automatically hit “ok” without thinking about it, but many stalkers will not.  This means that you have no reliable way to know if the tracker is tracking everyone 

*Most/Many Facebook trackers are just scams:  Who’d a thunk it?!  Many people are desperate to see who’s looking at their Facebook and would more than gladly fork-over a few dollars – scammers are more than ready to help with this by taking their money and vanishing.  Buyer beware!

What should I Do If I Click on Any Spam Links Unknowingly:

Even if we facebooks carefully, we too are humans and we too will be tempted to some offers. Even after knowing this I was tempted by a Free offer by a SMS channel and became prey for them.So always there is a chance of getting affected by spam.To avoid spreading of the spam on your name there are some things which you must do after knowing that the link you have clicked previously is a spam.

Step 1:

Since you have given the full permissions on your profile to the spam app,you need to remove them before it posts on your wall, your friends wall and even some of new spams create and event and invite all of your friends to it.To remove the permissions given, you must go to facebook Account Settings  and privacy settings.

Step 2:

Click on “edit your settings” which is at the bottom of the page below Apps and websites.Then Click on edit settings button and now you will be shown all the different apps and websites for which you have the permissions to access your profile.Now your immediate task is to Find the app which you previously felt as spam and remove it from your profile.By doing this you have saved many people from getting affected by spam and spreading spam.
