Anonymous, the famous hacker group has posted a video on YouTube saying that the group is going to attack on facebook to shutdown social networking website on Jan. 28.
Anonymous, the group of hackers which is known for attacking various popular organizations in recent days, has posted a video on YouTube in which it plans to target facebook in an attack on Jan. 28.“An online war has begun between Anonymous, the people and the government of the United States,” the video begins. “While SOPA and PIPA may be postponed from Congress, this doesn’t guarantee that our Internet rights will be upheld.”
Anonymous had attacked the U.S. Department of Justice’s website after shutdown of file-sharing site Megaupload Friday.
On Monday, Group had posted a video calls on the American people to participate in the hacking attacks by download DOS attacking tool LOIC.
“While it is true that facebook has at least 60,000 servers, it is still possible to bring it down,” says the Anonymous voice. “Anonymous needs the help of the people.” The tool must be used at the same time in order to be affective on this many servers, according to the member, who has set the time of 12am (we’re assuming UTC) on January 28 for the attack.
In 2011, Group had announced to shutdown facebook on 5 Nov. But soon after announcing its intentions, other members of Anonymous explained the attack was created by exterior Anonymous members.
