Free Services to Monitor Site Uptime/Downtime

Is it possible to monitor your site all day long to check if there is any downtime?



No, it’s not unless you are a robot. But still you have to know when there’s  a downtime to fix it up. Site downtime means loss of visitors, loss of customers, loss of revenue, loss of reputation and many more!



If you don’t want to lose any of them, you’ll have to find something to check your site downtime. Fortunately, there are some online services that check website repeatedly and let you know when there’s a downtime. Moreover, it will help you to understand whether if you are using right web hosting and CDN services or not.

In this post I am going to share a list of online services and tools to monitor your website uptime and downtime. Most of them has both free and premium version. I would suggest you to sign up for at least one or two services to become the first one to know when your website is down.

UptimeRobot monitors your site every 5 minutes and alerts you when there’s a downtime. It’s totally free. It monitor HTTP(s), Ping, Port and checks Keywords. You will be notified via e-mail, SMS, Twitter, web-hooks or push if there is any issue with your site. You can check all uptime and downtime from dashboard.

2. Monitor.Us



Monitor.Us is my personal favorite. It is an awesome free websites monitoring software. This cloud based monitoring tools identifies any issue quickly affecting your website and notifies you. With its dashboard, you can check Website uptime and response time, server health, network performance, custom metrics and more.

3. SiteUptime
