Quiet riot!

Hello! What?! I'm on a train! What? Yeah, I'm trying to annoy the bloke next to me by talking at obnoxiously high volume! But he can't hear me cos he's got Sony's latest MP3 Walkman, which comes with its own noise-cancelling earphones!
The earbuds on NW-S700 series use tiny microphones to detect and capture ambient noise, which is then mercilessly wiped out by the creation of equal and opposite "anti-noise". Sony claims that 75% of background babble is eradicated, leaving you to listen to ManoWar or Iron Maiden in peace.
Available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB versions, the players all have nifty OLED displays, FM tuners, and five-band graphic equalisers. The battery is a killer, too. It charges in next to no time, and when fully juiced, will give you a mammoth 50 hours of playback!
Sony has launched a Bluetooth transmitter attachment (the HWS-BTA2W), allowing you to play music through its portable Bluetooth speakers, which will have a 10-hour battery life. There will also be a docking cradle, which will include a line-in, for recording from exterior sources.
Managing to cram all this into a tiny stick with an affordable price tag is a coup for Sony. It's doubtful that Apple's designers will be shaking in their boots, but these noise-cancelling earphones should at least give them pause for thought (and some new ideas to pinch).

Thankyou for reading.
