new camera, then there is no doubt that you would be having eager and
excitement to click photos from it. But before that you must need tips
on how to use camera, if you are new to a photography world.
Here are tips which will help you in setting up your
new digital camera whether you have Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus,
Fuji, etc. So, before clicking any images you must follow below mentioned
tips.
Tips 1 – Charge the battery
First and important setup you have to follow is to
charge your camera battery to the fullest. If you really want to extend
the battery life you must charge the battery to the fullest and whenever
you charge battery frequently then take note only charge it when it
completely depleted. This tip is even recommended by the manufacturer
of camera.
Tips 2 – For the memory card and set the time
Second step after charging battery is that you have
to insert a memory card into it. If you are using memory card which
you already have, then you must format it. Turn on the camera, go to
menu and look for format option. When you format memory card it means
you are deleting all the data from it so make sure you have copy of
it in your computer or elsewhere.
Set the time of the camera, by doing so it will show
the time and date of the photo which you will take from your camera,
though it is not necessary but it will help you to know when exactly
you have taken the photo.
Tips 3 – Choose the Image quality and size
You can get the best quality image from your new camera
for that you have to set up the image quality and size. For that you
can set the size to large so that you can get all benefits of pixels.
Then set up the image quality option. You can find basic, normal, fine,
raw image quality option. You can set up to the fine JPEG quality. If
you select raw then you have to convert them to the image file format
such as JPEG or PNG to view the image, because raw file is an uncompressed
file which saves more data and are referred to as negative as it contains
maximum amount of data possible.
Tips 4 – Select the exposure mode
Most of the cameras provide different exposure modes
such as programmed auto, shutter priority aperture priority and manual.
You can select programmed auto exposure modes. This mode is the best
choice as it automatically looks the scene and brightness and tries
to provide the best exposure settings so that you can get the best quality
photo.
Tips 5 – Choose the white balance
Every your camera have white balance option whose
job is to get original colours, no matter on whatever lighting condition
you are taking photo. You can switch white balance settings to Auto
as it perfectly captures the original colours in the scene. Though you
can choose other white balance options such as Incandescent, Fluorescent,
direct sunlight, flash, etc, even you can customize your own white balance.
Tips 6 – Select the Autofocus mode
In most of the camera you can find Single AF mode
and Auto AF mode. Single AF mode is used when you take still images,
but when you take images of moving object, then you have to select continuous
autofocus mode. Auto AF mode automatically detect whether the object
is moving or not. So, you can choose Auto AF mode.
Tips 7 – Setting of AF point
Most of the camera comes with Autofocus point selection
settings which tell which pint setting to use. If you are beginner then
it is good start for you. The Autofocus point settings helps your camera
to presume whether your subject is at centre and it is the nearest object
of the frame. So set your camera AF point to Auto. It will automatically
detect the subject and provide the best photography.
Tips 8 – Select the appropriate Drive Mode
Almost all cameras have this function. Drive mode
allow you to choose whether your camera want to take one picture or
continuous picture at time. If you have kept the camera in single shot
mode then it will take only one photo at a time which is mostly kept
by many users. Continuous drive mode is helpful when you take the photo
of moving object. If you are taking still images select single shot
or else select continuous drive mode if you are taking photo of moving
objects.
Tips 9 – Image stabilization setting
Whenever you capture any photo and while capturing
it if there is any little movement with your hand, you might have found
that the image is blur. So, if you want to take best photos then turn
on the image stabilization. It helps in moving the sensor inside the
lens to reimburse for movements. But in case if you are using tripod
then turn of the image stabilization setting.
Tips 10 – Select the color space
Most of the camera has two types of color spaces such
as sRGB and Adobe RGB. Select Adobe RGB as it has high color range than
sRGB which provide best option in most occasions.
