Use Google Priority Inbox to avoid spam

Use Google Priority Inbox to avoid spam
Until now internet spammers were having free run, they clogged email servers with spam mails at will but not any longer. Google has unveiled what it says as Priority Inbox service. This is basically a complex algorithm based program that Google has developed to help its Gmail users to sort out there important mails from not so important or spam mail. This is one of the first initiative taken by internet behemoth to further consolidate its market share. Have a look at this screen shot.

Apart from this whenever you feel like if the important mails are not included in your inbox you can always add exception to that mail and next time mail from this sender will land in your priority inbox! The system uses a plethora of criteria to decide which messages are most important: things like how frequently you open and/or respond to messages from a given sender, how often you read messages that contain a certain keyword, and whether or not the message is addressed solely to you or looks like it was sent to a mailing list. If you come across a message that’s been marked important when it shouldn’t have been, you can hit an arrow to tell Gmail it’s messed up. Likewise, if a message that should have been flagged gets sent to the ‘everything else’ area, you can promote it. Through these actions Gmail gets progressively smarter, so the system should work better over time.

I have been using this service personally for the past couple of days and its working just fine.Sometimes though some of my messages are not included in priority inbox but I can always train my inbox to include these mails in future. Hope you have great time using this latest offering from the gmail team.
