Advanced SystemCare 6 Beta first look

IOBit has just released the first beta version of Advanced SystemCare 6, the next version of the popular system maintenance software.  The new beta version is compatible with all recent 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the Windowsoperating system and can be downloaded from Major Geeks.
Before you start heading over there I’d like to remind you that it is beta software, which means that you should not install it in a productive environment. The program will install a Surfing Protection add-on for Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer without opt-out option. Most browsers will however ask you whether you want to install the add-on or not, so that it is possible to avoid the installation after all. I know it is a beta version and all, but it still would have been nice if the installer would have displayed options to customize the installation in this regard.
When you first start Advanced SystemCare 6 you will notice the new user interface which starts in simplified mode by default. This mode is aimed at computer users who are not that tech-savvy or experienced. A click on the mode switches to expert mode which displays all the program options and settings in the interface.

As you can see, additional settings are displayed in expert mode.  All items under care are individually selectable, with all options selected in expert mode, while only some selected in the program’s simplified mode.  Several of the optimization modules have been improved performance wise, including the disk defragmenter or the Registry fix and vulnerability scanning module. Here is a list of all major feature changes of the beta compared to Advanced SystemCare 5.
  • Brand New User Interface for Easier and Simpler Use
  • New Surfing Protection Technology for TOP Online Security and Safer Online Environment
  • New Performance Monitoring Technology as an Add-On for More Comprehensive and Efficient Optimization
  • New Generation Technology for Much Lighter Installation Package Yet More Powerful Functions
  • New Internet Boost Technology for Faster and Smoother Online Experience
  • New Generation Super Engine for Disk Defragment to make scan and optimization much faster
  • More Secure, Stable, Smart and Reliable Performance Gives You Peace of Mind
  • Improved Active Optimize Function for Smarter Real-time Optimization
  • Improved Toolbox for Daily PC Maintenance
  • Improved Turbo Boost Function for More Efficient Working and Superb Gaming Experience
  • Enhanced Registry Fix and Vulnerability Scanning Technology Ensures More Effective Performance
IOBit has merged quick and deep care into a single optimization module and placed it directly on the first page. While this may look confusing at first to existing users of the program, it saves a click and removes the confusion in regards to two different cleaning modules.
The new Performance Monitor needs to be activated in the general program settings. It is then shown as a widget on the screen highlighting the system’s cpu, disk, ram and network utilization. Links to various program features, like clearing the RAM or scanning the system are directly available here as well.

The beta version ran pretty stable and without bigger issues on a test system. It is too early to give a verdict. While I do like some of the changes like the merger of the two care modules, I do not like the missing options to block the Surfing Protection add-on installation. The latter may be beta-specific though. Have you tried the beta of the new Advanced SystemCare 6?
