Google is expected to soon push a new update for its Play Store app. Android Police has received the APK for the new update, which brings in a slew of changes like in-app purchases, new review layout and activity feed.
One of the highlights of the update is an indicator for in-app purchases, which is reportedly a binary yes or no indicator. Though it won't reveal the cost or quantity of IAPs, it indicates if the app you’ll be downloading will be asking for further transactions.
The other change comes to the review process and related layouts. The new layout lets users view their own review, and also rate an app using a five-star selector. The stars are reportedly dipped in several colours, depending upon the category selected. For instance, Books has blue stars, Movies & TV has red stars. Google has also added an "Edit" button, allowing user to conveniently edit their reviews.
Now, the reviews show avatar images encapsulated in circles instead of squares, replicating the desktop version of Play Store. This clearly indicates that Google is tying to bring in a consistent layout across all devices. Earlier today, we saw how the search giant has revamped Google News mobile to bring in consistency and other additional features.
Apart from new layout, the Play Store app update also adds an activity feed. It will let users view and share a stream of Play Store activity with others, connected to the user’s Google+ profile. The feed will also display +1s, app ratings, and so on.
Would love to here from you...
