Fox News twitter feed was hacked and as a result the hackers were able to post some fake news over that and ultimately a large number of people started to re-tweet them. So, it went completely viral.
It was hacked by a group of hackers with alias as “Script Kiddies” you can see that false tweets posted in the icon picture of the post well some of them were:-
“The @foxnewspolitics feed stated: "BREAKING NEWS: @BarackObama assassinated, 2 gunshot wounds have proved too much.”“Barack Obama has just passed. The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed. President Barack Obama is dead.”

Its Twitter account carries the "verified" tick icon, indicating that the feed belongs to the organization it claims to be.
In a statement, Jeff Misenti, vice president and general manager of Fox News Digital said:
“We will be requesting a detailed investigation from Twitter about how this occurred, and measures to prevent future unauthorized access into FoxNews.com accounts.”
Almost all the tweets have been deleted by the twitter and the account of FoxNews has been restored and ultimately the script kiddie account has been suspended as tweets appeared from them too and they claim to hack the account of Fox News also.
So, its quite funny that how they broke the secure servers of fox news and managed to access the twitter account feed. However this also raises a question that where is security? there is just opportunity..
