It was announced today that Facebook will be partnering with Skype to launch a video calling feature. Apparently those pesky phone companies have been hoarding all the money for too long, and Mark Zuckerberg has had enough. Time to throw his virtual hat into that whole ring.
This comes on the heels of him pushing his way into the latest Google application, the Google+ social networking feature. Many people in the tech industry think Google+ could eventually take a bite (byte?) out of Facebook’s popularity. And I am sure Google is banking on it being a formidable challenger to Mark Zuckerberg’s empire. Therefore it only makes sense for Zuckerberg himself to want to know what exactly it’s all about.

So far Google+ hasn’t been offered to the general public. The only way to open an account is by invitation, and the only folks getting invitations are journalists, techie geek bloggers and other technology insiders. Oh, and also big shots like Zuckerberg.
Due to the whole invitation thing, all the most popular people on Google+ are essentially nobodies to you and me. Mostly Google executives and such. It’s not like Twitter yet, where celebs have taken over.
So if you’re looking to follow Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber, well, you’re just plus out of luck.
Would love to here from you...
